GEORGIA — One person was killed and another was injured in an early morning crash Sunday on Highway 84 near Liberty County High School, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened shortly before 6:30 a.m. and resulted in the closure of both directions of Highway 84 for a period of time while emergency crews responded and investigated the scene.
Authorities said the deceased victim was transported to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
The condition of the other driver involved in the crash was not immediately known. Georgia State Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
