
GEORGIA — A 28-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Thomas County, according to Thomas County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Watkins said the incident was discovered around 1:23 a.m. Sunday when a Thomas County deputy, who was responding to an unrelated call, came upon a victim at 1100 Hall Road. Deputies attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but the man was pronounced dead.
According to the sheriff, the victim was wearing dark clothing and had earbuds in at the time of the crash. Officials said he appeared to be skateboarding when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver involved did not remain at the scene.
The investigation has been turned over to the Georgia State Patrol, which is handling the crash investigation.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run to contact the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office or the Georgia State Patrol.
