LOUISIANA — A man was found dead following a shooting late Friday night in Baton Rouge, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.
Police said officers responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Virginia Street at around 10 p.m. Friday, where they discovered 32-year-old Lathan Wheeler inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. Wheeler was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the motive for the shooting and any potential suspects have not been identified at this time. The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not released additional details.
