OHIO — Thousands of Ohio residents are without electricity as cold weather continues to affect parts of the state, according to the latest outage data from PowerOutage.com.
As of the most recent update, approximately 2,460 customers were reported without power statewide out of more than 5.36 million customers tracked. While the overall outage percentage remains low, several counties in northern and northeastern Ohio are experiencing the highest number of power disruptions as freezing rain and ice accumulation impact utility infrastructure.
Cuyahoga County reported the largest number of outages, with 1,484 customers without electricity. Ashtabula County followed with 553 outages, while Holmes County reported 158 customers affected. Ross County had 112 outages, and Franklin County reported 40 customers without power. Smaller numbers of outages were also noted in Fairfield County with 29, Huron County with 23, and Delaware County with 14.
Residents are urged to use caution when traveling, avoid downed lines, and prepare for possible additional outages as freezing conditions persist. Crews continue restoration efforts while working in hazardous weather conditions.
