ARKANSAS — Thousands of Arkansas residents are without electricity as an ice storm continues to affect parts of the state, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.com.

As of the most recent update, approximately 5,221 customers were reported without power statewide out of more than 1.66 million customers tracked. While outages remain scattered, several counties in southern and northeastern Arkansas are experiencing the highest impacts as freezing rain and icy conditions place stress on power infrastructure.

Sevier County reported the largest number of outages, with 2,031 customers without electricity. Craighead County followed with 664 outages, while Mississippi County reported 620 customers affected.

Miller County had 522 outages, and Little River County reported 295 customers without power. Additional outages were reported in Columbia County with 189 customers affected, Grant County with 169, and Nevada County with 142.

Utility officials say ice accumulation on trees and power lines is the primary cause of the outages and warn that additional disruptions are possible as freezing conditions persist. Residents are urged to limit travel, use caution with alternative heating sources, and prepare for potential extended outages while crews work to restore power safely amid hazardous weather conditions.
