
GEORGIA — One person was killed and two others were injured following a crash involving multiple 18-wheelers on Interstate 16, authorities said.
According to the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a multi-vehicle crash involving semi-trucks in the eastbound lanes of I-16 near the Twiggs and Bleckley County line. Fire crews and emergency medical services were also dispatched to the scene.
Officials confirmed that one person died as a result of the crash, while two others were injured. The conditions of the injured individuals were not immediately released.
Traffic was impacted in the area as crews worked to secure the scene and investigate the cause of the crash. Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved.
