ALABAMA — Two individuals were arrested following a traffic stop conducted by the Oxford Police Department on Interstate 20, according to officials.
Police said officers initiated the traffic stop and, during the encounter, discovered evidence that led to drug-related charges against both individuals. As the investigation continued, authorities determined that one of the suspects was also wanted on an outstanding weapons warrant issued out of Tuscaloosa.
Both individuals were taken into custody without incident, police said.
Officials noted that the investigation remains ongoing and that additional information, including the identities of those arrested and specific charges, may be released as it becomes available.
