SOUTH CAROLINA — A man already being sought in one homicide investigation is now wanted in connection with a second murder, according to authorities.

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that Kadeem McFadden of Lake City is wanted for murder in connection with a Christmas Eve shooting on Bozy Road in the Scranton area. Deputies said McFadden is accused of shooting Kobe Godfrey multiple times, resulting in Godfrey’s death.

Authorities warned that McFadden is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. He is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing about 165 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

McFadden was previously arrested by Timmonsville Police Department in July in connection with a dog-fighting case. While out on bond in that case, Timmonsville police later identified McFadden as a suspect in the August shooting death of 37-year-old Calvin Sowells.

Timmonsville police said McFadden is wanted on charges including murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and commission of a violent crime while out on bond for a prior violent offense. James Allen, the police chief in Timmonsville, said McFadden has been on the run since then and has not yet been arrested on those charges.

Allen added that the U.S. Marshals Service has been tasked with assisting in the search for McFadden. Authorities urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately.
