PENNSYLVANIA — Traffic was heavily backed up Thursday morning following a four-vehicle crash on Route 283 in Lancaster County, authorities said.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:37 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Route 283 near the Route 722/Landisville exit in East Hempfield Township. An SUV and three sedans were involved in the collision.
According to dispatchers, two people were injured and transported to a hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
At least one eastbound lane of Route 283 was blocked for an extended period, leading to significant traffic delays during the morning commute. Officials said traffic was backed up for miles as crews worked at the scene.
