SOUTH CAROLINA — A suspect has been detained following a deadly shooting early Thursday morning, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they were dispatched to the area near Palmetto Lane just after 4:20 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found one person deceased.
Authorities confirmed that, before 11 a.m., a suspect had been detained in connection with the shooting. Officials said the incident stemmed from a domestic situation.
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office is assisting with the investigation. No additional details, including the identity of the victim or the suspect, have been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
