FLORIDA — Police in Cocoa are searching for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured two teenagers riding an electric bicycle Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Cocoa Police Department, the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and University Lane. Officers said two juveniles, ages 16 and 17, were riding an e-bike when they were struck by a vehicle. Both victims suffered minor injuries.

Investigators said the crash involved a silver or gray Honda SUV, possibly a Honda Pilot or Honda CR-V. Police reported the driver failed to stop at a stop sign before colliding with the teenagers and then fled the scene.

The driver is described as a Black male with a thick beard. Authorities said the vehicle is expected to have damage to the front passenger side, particularly the front fender.

Police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information about the crash or the suspect vehicle to contact the Cocoa Police Department.
