
TENNESSEE — A train derailment in the Wartrace community of Bedford County prompted precautionary evacuations Tuesday morning.
According to CSX, four rail cars derailed around 8 a.m. near the intersection of Vine Street and Bugscuffle Road. As a safety measure, residents in the immediate area were advised to evacuate.
CSX officials said there were no reports of injuries, leaks, or spills as a result of the derailment. The company did not immediately release information about what the train was carrying.
CSX crews remain on scene and are working to safely remove the derailed equipment and restore the area. The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
