OHIO — A man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following an alleged assault and break-in reported Sunday in Salem.
According to Salem Police Department, officers were called to a home on East Third Street after receiving a report of an assault. When officers arrived, they found a male victim with a swollen eye and blood covering his face.
Police reports state that two men had come to the residence against the wishes of the homeowner, a woman who was known to the accused. The woman later brought the male victim to the home so she “didn’t have to deal with the subject alone,” according to the report. An argument followed, and police allege the assailant, identified as George Feezle III, struck the victim in the head with a pair of pliers. Feezle and the second man, who was not identified and is not facing charges, then fled the scene.
Officers also discovered the female homeowner had an active warrant for her arrest and took her into custody.
Later that day, police were called back to the East Third Street address after a neighbor reported a man entering the home through an unlocked window. Officers located Feezle hiding under a bean bag chair in the basement, according to reports.
Feezle was arrested and charged with felony burglary and felonious assault, along with misdemeanor counts of criminal trespassing and violating a protection order. He was arraigned on the charges Tuesday morning.
