SOUTH CAROLINA — A Powerball ticket sold in South Carolina matched five numbers in Saturday night’s drawing, earning a $2 million prize, lottery officials confirmed.

The winning numbers drawn Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, were 5, 8, 27, 49, 57, with a Powerball of 14. The ticket included the Power Play, which was set at 4x, increasing the base $500,000 prize for matching five white balls to $2 million.

The ticket was sold at a South Carolina retailer, though officials have not yet released the name or location of the store. Winners are typically encouraged to sign the back of their ticket and contact the state lottery to begin the claims process.

No ticket matched all six numbers, meaning the estimated jackpot climbed to $193 million, with a cash value of $87.9 million, for the next drawing.

Powerball is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with drawings held three times a week. South Carolina Lottery officials remind players that prizes must be claimed within the timeframe set by state law and that winners may choose to remain anonymous under South Carolina lottery rules.
