KENTUCKY — A home invasion that led to a shooting Friday evening in Madisonville is under investigation, according to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they were called to a home on Fowler Road at approximately 4:59 p.m. Initial reports indicated that a homeowner had shot an intruder. When deputies arrived, they found evidence of forced entry into the residence and signs of a physical struggle between the suspect and the homeowner.
Authorities said the homeowner retrieved a firearm during the struggle and shot the intruder. The suspect’s medical condition was not immediately known.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office said it was assisted at the scene by the Madisonville Police Department and Medical Center Ambulance.
The incident remains under investigation, and no additional details were released.
