
GEORGIA — Four people were injured Friday evening in a single-vehicle rollover crash on State Route 57 in Georgia after a driver swerved to avoid hitting an animal, according to authorities.
The Georgia State Patrol said troopers were dispatched around 6:23 p.m. to a crash near mile marker 28 on SR 57. An investigation determined that the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder lost control of the vehicle after swerving, causing it to overturn.
Troopers said the adult male driver, two adult passengers, and one juvenile passenger were all injured in the crash. Some of the occupants were reported to be trapped inside the vehicle and required assistance.
As a result of the crash, SR 57 was completely closed to traffic from 6:55 p.m. until 10:10 p.m. while emergency crews worked at the scene.
According to Georgia State Patrol, the adult driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license and was charged accordingly.
