FLORIDA — A Pensacola man is being held without bond after deputies say they uncovered large quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana during a narcotics investigation, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said members of its Narcotics Unit and SWAT team executed a search warrant on Jan. 15 at a residence in the 2700 block of West Lakeview Avenue. During the search, deputies arrested 22-year-old Kamron Fountain.
According to ECSO, Fountain is charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute or manufacture marijuana, and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.
“During the search, approximately 713 grams of methamphetamine, 60.5 grams of fentanyl (most of which was a methamphetamine/fentanyl mixture) and 181 grams of marijuana were located,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook release.
The Drug Enforcement Administration notes that as little as 2 milligrams of fentanyl can be a lethal dose. Authorities said that although much of the fentanyl seized was mixed with other substances, the amount recovered could have posed a significant danger.
Fountain remains held without bond at the Escambia County Jail, according to jail records. The investigation remains ongoing.
