TENNESSEE — A Nashville man was killed and two others were injured in a crash early Friday morning along Old Hickory Boulevard, according to police.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said the crash occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on Old Hickory Boulevard near Zermatt Avenue. A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2005 Lincoln Grand Marquis was traveling west on Old Hickory Boulevard and attempting to turn left onto Zermatt Avenue when it was struck on the passenger side by a 2019 Honda Accord.

Police said the impact caused the Lincoln to overturn. Authorities noted that none of the occupants inside the Lincoln were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The 38-year-old driver of the Lincoln was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger in the Lincoln, identified as 42-year-old Markeith Miller of Nashville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda, a 25-year-old, was wearing a seat belt and was also taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Investigators said a failure to yield the right of way by the Lincoln driver appears to be a contributing factor in the crash. Authorities are also continuing to determine whether speed or impairment played a role. The investigation remains ongoing.
