SOUTH CAROLINA — Authorities in the Pee Dee region arrested three people following an investigation into the alleged neglect of a vulnerable adult, according to the Lamar Police Department and the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the investigation began on January 5 after the Department of Adult Protective Services received a tip regarding possible neglect of a vulnerable adult. During the investigation, law enforcement identified caregivers at a residence in the 200 block of West Main Street and obtained the necessary warrants.
At approximately 10 a.m. Thursday, members of the Darlington County Combined Drug Unit, the Special Incident Response Team, and several other Pee Dee law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at the home. Authorities said the victim was removed from the residence and placed into protective services custody.
As a result of the investigation, Chay Stewart was arrested and charged with neglect of a vulnerable adult and intimidation of a vulnerable adult. Shaa Randall was arrested and charged with neglect of a vulnerable adult. Natalie Holloman was arrested and charged with possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine or cocaine and possession of other controlled substances.
All three individuals are being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center. A Darlington County magistrate set Stewart’s bond at a total of $75,000, Randall’s bond at $25,000, and Holloman’s bond at a total of $50,000.
Authorities said the investigation remains active and additional information may be released.
