
INDIANA — Three people were killed in a head-on crash Wednesday afternoon in Madison County, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies said the crash occurred around 3:43 p.m. in the 5500 block of South State Route 67 near Pendleton. Investigators believe a black Nissan Titan was traveling northbound on SR 67 when it crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.
The male driver and female passenger in the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep, also described as a male, was transported to a hospital in Anderson, where he later died.
Officials confirmed that no other vehicles or individuals were involved in the crash. South State Route 67 remained closed for several hours as investigators worked at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
