
VIRGINIA — A 17-year-old boy was injured in a shooting Tuesday night in the city of Hopewell, according to police.
Authorities said that just before 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, Hopewell Telecommunications received a call reporting that a teenager had been shot. Officers responded to the 100 block of East Broadway Avenue, where they found a 17-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound.
Police said the injury was considered non-life-threatening. The teenager was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Investigators said the identity of the suspect remains under investigation, and the suspect’s whereabouts were unknown as of the time of the report. The Hopewell Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
