OHIO — Two suspects wanted in connection with a violent gang-related shooting in Michigan were arrested by federal authorities in Ohio, while a third suspect remains at large, according to a release from the U.S. Marshals Service.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested 27-year-old Montez White late Monday afternoon in Toledo. Authorities said White was wanted by police in Jackson in connection with a shooting that occurred on May 17, 2025.

Task force members had previously arrested a second suspect, 28-year-old Tyrek Rice, on Dec. 30, 2025. Both White and Rice are charged with open murder, four counts of assault with intent to murder, and multiple firearm violations. Investigators said the charges stem from a shooting in Michigan that left one person dead and four others injured.

According to the release, investigators received information that the suspects may have been hiding in the Toledo area. On Dec. 30, task force members located a vehicle associated with Rice and, along with the Toledo Police SWAT Team, conducted a traffic stop near Airport Highway and Byrne Road. Rice was taken into custody without incident. White was located and arrested at a Toledo address Monday, also without incident.

Authorities are still searching for a third suspect, 29-year-old Dion Flowers, who is wanted on the same charges. Flowers is described as a Black man standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 175 pounds. Officials said reward money is available for information leading to his arrest.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said investigators in both Ohio and Michigan will continue searching until the remaining fugitive is captured.
