Police searching for wanted robbery suspect in Ohio

OHIO — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted in connection with a violent incident in Cincinnati, according to Greater Cincinnati Crime Stoppers.

Police with Cincinnati Police District Three are searching for 31-year-old Jonnell Canty, who is wanted on charges of robbery and misdemeanor criminal damaging. Investigators said the incident occurred on Jan. 7, 2026, during a dispute involving the suspect and the victim.

According to police, Canty allegedly threw a rock through the victim’s car window, causing it to shatter. Authorities said Canty then struck the victim in the head, resulting in visible injuries. Additional details about the dispute have not been released.

Canty is described as a Black male, 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. Police said he has a criminal history that includes weapon offenses, fleeing and eluding, obstructing official business, and falsification. He was last known to live on East Tower Drive in the Westwood area of Cincinnati.

Canty has been wanted since Jan. 12, 2026. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact Greater Cincinnati Crime Stoppers or Cincinnati police. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
