
VIRGINIA — One person was killed in a crash on Interstate 81 in Washington County, Virginia, early Monday morning, according to the Virginia State Police.
State police said the crash occurred just after 6 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-81 near mile marker 31. Investigators reported that a sport utility vehicle traveling northbound struck a disabled tractor-trailer that was stopped in the right lane of the interstate.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not release the victim’s identity or additional details about the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Virginia State Police said the incident remains under investigation.
