
NORTH CAROLINA — One person was killed in a crash Sunday afternoon in north Charlotte, according to local officials.
The crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. on Interstate 485 near Exit 26 at Robert Helms Road. Medic officials said the incident involved a motorcycle and that one person was pronounced dead at the scene. It was not immediately clear whether the deceased was the motorcyclist or another person involved in the crash.
Authorities have not released details about how many vehicles were involved or what led to the crash.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Interstate 485 was closed in the area until 6:44 p.m. due to the crash.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has not released additional information. The incident remains under investigation.
