KENTUCKY — One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash Sunday morning in Lexington, according to police.
The Lexington Police Department said officers responded to the collision at the intersection of Tates Creek Road and Clearwater Way around 9:30 a.m.
Police reported that two people were transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. One of those victims later died as a result of their injuries. The condition of the second victim was not immediately updated.
As of Sunday, outbound lanes of Tates Creek Road were closed while a crash reconstruction unit investigated the cause of the collision. Police said one inbound lane of Tates Creek Road remained open to traffic during the investigation.
No additional details about the vehicles involved or the cause of the crash have been released.
