Body found in parking lot in Tennessee, investigation underway

TENNESSEE — Detectives are investigating after a man was found dead in a parking lot early Sunday morning in Clarksville, according to police.

The Clarksville Police Department said officers responded around 6 a.m. to Bob’s Discount Tobacco on Providence Boulevard for a welfare check. When officers arrived, they found an unconscious man lying in the parking lot.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by Montgomery County EMS, police said.

According to CPD, detectives with the department’s Special Operations Homicide Unit are processing the scene. However, authorities said foul play is not suspected at this time. No additional details about the man’s identity or the circumstances surrounding his death were immediately released.
