
NORTH CAROLINA — One person was killed and another injured following a single-vehicle crash in Rutherford County, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
Highway Patrol said troopers responded to the crash on Friday, Jan. 9, on Piney Mountain Church Road. Investigators said the vehicle was driven by Paul Robinson and was also occupied by his sons.
According to authorities, the vehicle left the roadway, overturned, and struck a tree. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.
One passenger was injured in the crash and was transported to Spartanburg Regional Hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries was not released.
Highway Patrol officials said the next of kin has been notified. The crash remains under investigation.
