VIRGINIA — A man died Friday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash in Patrick County, according to the Virginia State Police.
State police said the crash occurred at approximately 2:21 p.m. on South Main Street in Patrick County. Investigators determined that a Ford F-150 was traveling north when the driver suffered a medical emergency. As a result, the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck several trees.
Authorities identified the driver as 82-year-old Raymond Lee Spence of Stuart. Spence was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by Virginia State Police. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
