One person arrested following drug bust in Alabama

ALABAMA — A Robertsdale man was arrested Tuesday night in Foley after police said he was found in possession of a large quantity of illegal drugs during a traffic investigation.

According to the Foley Police Department, officers were investigating a traffic violation around 8:45 p.m. when they discovered approximately 11 ounces of liquid methamphetamine.

Police identified the suspect as Lewis Joseph Jackson, 30, of Robertsdale. Authorities said Jackson allegedly attempted to hide and tamper with the drugs during the encounter.

Jackson was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and tampering with physical evidence.

He was transported to the Baldwin County Corrections Center, where he remains held on a $750,000 bond. The case remains under investigation.
