INDIANA — Students in Knightstown were given an unexpected day off from classes Friday after town-wide water pressure issues led to closures for the local public school district.
The Charles A. Beard Memorial School Corporation posted a notice on its website Friday morning announcing that schools would be closed for the day due to the water problems affecting the community. District officials said students would not participate in virtual learning on Friday and expressed confidence that classes would resume as normal on Monday.
Officials did not immediately say what caused the water pressure issues.
In addition to the school closures, the Knightstown has been placed under a boil water advisory until further notice, according to a post from the Town of Knightstown on social media. Residents are advised to boil water used for drinking, cooking, and other household needs until the advisory is lifted.
Town and school officials said updates will be shared as more information becomes available and as crews work to resolve the issue.
