
SOUTH CAROLINA — One person was injured in a single-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in the Longs community area, according to authorities.
Horry County Fire Rescue responded at approximately 3:27 p.m. to the area of East Highway 9 and Charter Drive after receiving a report of a crash. Officials said the incident involved a vehicle that struck a wall near the entrance of a neighborhood.
One person was transported to a hospital with injuries. No information on the extent of those injuries was immediately released.
Several lanes of traffic were blocked as a result of the crash, causing delays in the area. Motorists were urged to avoid the scene to allow emergency crews to work safely and to prevent additional congestion.
The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. No further details were available at the time of the report.
