OHIO — Thirteen children were taken to area hospitals as a precaution following a crash involving a school bus in Montgomery County on Thursday afternoon, according to officials.
The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Natalie Court and Castano Drive, said Ralph Bowman, public information officer for the Trotwood Fire Department. The collision involved a school bus carrying nearly 30 young students and an SUV.
Bowman said the children involved attend Trotwood City Schools. Thirteen students were transported to hospitals as a precautionary measure. Several occupants of the SUV were also hospitalized. Bowman noted that injuries reported in the crash were mostly minor, but no additional details were immediately available.
Children who were not injured were released to their parents or guardians at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Trotwood Police Department. No further information has been released at this time.
