GEORGIA — A Hart County man was arrested early Saturday morning after a traffic stop led to the discovery of fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said Aaron Allen Jackson, 30, of Hartwell, was stopped just before 4 a.m. while driving a silver Honda Accord on Reed Creek School Road. During the stop, deputies found a glass pipe in Jackson’s pocket.
Authorities said Jackson also had a cigarette pack in his left front pocket containing a bag of fentanyl, along with several dollar bills folded around fentanyl and methamphetamine. According to the sheriff’s office, Jackson told deputies that he had a “license to use methamphetamine.”
A further search of the vehicle led deputies to find another bag of fentanyl and additional cash folded around drugs under the vehicle’s radio, officials said.
Jackson was taken into custody and charged with trafficking in fentanyl, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects, and a vehicle equipment violation.
The incident remains under investigation by the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.
