FLORIDA — Troopers are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday morning in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the crash happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Mascotte Empire Road in Groveland. Investigators reported that a 2010 Lexus ES overturned near the intersection of Mascotte Empire Road and Justamere Lane.
Troopers said the driver of the vehicle died at the scene. The identity of the driver has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
As of 8:45 a.m., Florida Highway Patrol reported that Mascotte Empire Road was blocked in both directions while investigators worked at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
