TENNESSEE — Authorities have recovered a body and a vehicle from a lake in Tennessee near the Mississippi state line.

According to the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office, crews pulled the body of James Raines of Saulsbury from a lake in the Candlewood Lake subdivision on Wednesday afternoon. Raines’ vehicle was also located in the lake.

Investigators said it appears Raines may have suffered a medical emergency while driving before the vehicle entered the water. The sheriff’s office reported there were no signs of foul play.

The Candlewood Lake subdivision is located in Hardeman County and is approximately 10 miles northwest of Walnut, just across the Mississippi border.

No additional details were released, and the incident remains under review by the sheriff’s office.
