OHIO — A Washington County man was arrested after deputies responded to a report of intruders that authorities later determined did not exist, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said 56-year-old James Lambert called to report that people were inside his home and refusing to leave. When deputies arrived, they found no intruders inside the residence. However, a firearm was observed in plain view, authorities said.
According to the sheriff’s office, Lambert admitted to consuming a “large amount” of store-bought mushrooms prior to calling authorities. He reportedly consented to a search of his home, during which no other individuals were located.
Dispatch records indicated Lambert had prior felony arrests, which made him legally prohibited from possessing a firearm, officials said.
Lambert was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail. He was charged with having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony.
