
OHIO — A man was killed Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle in rural Williams County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash was reported just before 7:30 a.m. on County Road I, east of County Road 10 in Superior Township. Investigators determined that a truck was parked in the eastbound lane of County Road I for an unknown reason.
According to a press release, a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by a juvenile rear-ended the parked truck. After the collision, the car drifted into the westbound lane, where it struck a man who had exited the truck for reasons that remain unclear.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as David Fox, 64, of the nearby village of Edon.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Defiance Post. No additional details were immediately released.
