GEORGIA — A traffic stop in Crisp County on Saturday, Jan. 3, led to the arrest of a Cordele man on multiple drug-related charges, according to the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said a CCSO deputy stopped a white Mercedes traveling northbound on Joe Wright Drive after noticing a headlight violation. During the stop, the deputy reported detecting a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver was identified as 37-year-old Johntava Jones of Cordele.

A search of the vehicle was conducted, during which deputies reported finding several suspected illegal substances and related items. According to the sheriff’s office, the items seized included MDMA (Ecstasy) pills, oxycodone pills, phentermine pills, approximately 13 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, and packaging materials. Investigators also collected additional evidence, including cash.
