INDIANA — Authorities are investigating a deadly crash that claimed the life of a woman in Tippecanoe County Monday morning.
According to the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office, investigators responded around 8:45 a.m. to the 1100 block of Courtland Avenue in Lafayette after reports of a serious vehicle crash in the area.
The coroner’s office said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The individual is believed to be a woman in her 20s. As of publication, officials said they are working to positively identify the victim and notify her next of kin.
A forensic autopsy is scheduled to be conducted at the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under active investigation.
“Our sincerest condolences go out to family and friends of the decedent and we hope they are respected during this difficult time,” said Carrie Costello, Tippecanoe County coroner.
