Eight people injured after vehicle crashes into restaurant in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — Eight people were injured Sunday when an SUV crashed through the front of a restaurant in Greenville County, South Carolina, authorities said.

The crash happened at the Viva Chicken on Pelham Road near Interstate 85. The Boiling Springs Fire Departmentreported that eight people were hurt in the incident, with three of those patients classified as priority patients due to the severity of their injuries.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and provided medical care before transporting the injured to area hospitals. No additional details about the victims’ conditions were immediately released.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Authorities have not released information on what led to the SUV leaving the roadway or whether any charges are expected.
