NORTH CAROLINA — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Monday morning in Rocky Mount, authorities said.
According to the Rocky Mount Police Department, officers were dispatched to a reported shooting on Sunset Avenue around 1:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. First responders performed life-saving measures at the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The man’s identity has not been released.
Police said no suspect information is available at this time, and the shooting remains under investigation.
