One person injured following propane explosion in camper in Florida

FLORIDA — One person was injured Sunday afternoon following a propane explosion at a camper in Spring Hill, according to the Hernando County Fire Rescue.

Fire rescue officials said crews were dispatched just before 5 p.m. to a reported structure fire in the 6100 block of Piedmont Drive. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from a pull-behind camper located on the property.

Officials determined the fire had already been extinguished before crews arrived. During their assessment of the scene, responders found one victim suffering from burn injuries.

Paramedics provided immediate medical care at the scene before transporting the victim to a nearby burn center. The individual was reported to be in stable condition.

According to Hernando County Fire Rescue, initial reports indicate the fire was caused by a propane explosion. The incident remains under investigation.
