VIRGINIA — A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold in Virginia following the drawing held Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, according to lottery officials.
The winning numbers drawn were 18, 21, 40, 53, 60, with Powerball number 23. The Power Play multiplier for the drawing was 3x. The Virginia ticket matched four white balls and the Powerball, a prize combination that pays $50,000. The ticket did not include the Power Play option, which would have increased the prize.
No ticket matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, which was estimated at $74 million for the drawing. The cash value of the jackpot was approximately $33.6 million.
Officials with the Virginia Lottery have not yet released the location where the winning ticket was sold. Winners are reminded to sign the back of their ticket and contact lottery officials for information on claiming prizes through Powerball.
