Measurable snowfall possible in Wisconsin Sunday

WISCONSIN — Snow and freezing drizzle are expected to affect parts of Wisconsin from late Sunday afternoon through early Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters say confidence remains steady that accumulating snow will develop late Sunday and continue through Sunday night. The highest chances for snowfall are across northern portions of the state.

Areas north of a line from Wausau to Manitowoc have a 40 to 70 percent probability of receiving at least 2 inches of snow, while lower amounts are expected farther south.

In addition to snow, the National Weather Service notes a medium to high chance that freezing drizzle could follow early Monday morning. This could lead to minor ice glazing on exposed surfaces.

Road conditions are expected to deteriorate as snow-covered and slippery roads develop. Officials warn that travel may be slowed and hazardous, particularly during the Monday morning commute, and motorists are urged to use caution.
