NORTH CAROLINA — A yearlong narcotics investigation dubbed “Operation Roadrunner” has resulted in 42 arrests and the seizure of large quantities of drugs, weapons, and cash, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office announced.

The operation was led by the Alamance Narcotics Enforcement Team (ANET) in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).

Authorities said those arrested include four individuals from Orange County and one from Durham County.

As part of the investigation, law enforcement seized 18.6 kilograms of cocaine, 159 pounds of marijuana, 1,000 grams of methamphetamine, and 24.4 dosage units of MDMA. They also confiscated 25 firearms and $876,812 in cash.

According to the sheriff’s office, some of the suspects are currently awaiting trial, while others have already been convicted and are serving their sentences.
