Virginia school closings and delays for Tuesday

0

VIRGINIA — Several school divisions across Southwest Virginia have announced delays and schedule changes for Tuesday, February 24, 2026, due to winter weather conditions.

Bland County Schools, Grayson County Schools, Smyth County Schools, Tazewell County Schools and Wythe County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Tuesday morning.

In Buchanan County, Grundy Schools will shift to virtual learning for all students.

Additional two-hour delays have been announced for several town and county systems, including Clintwood Schools, Independence Schools, Jonesville Schools, Norton Schools, Gate City Schools, Marion Schools and Wise County Schools.

The delays are intended to allow extra time for road crews to address icy and snow-covered roads and to ensure safer travel conditions for students and staff.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to monitor official school communication channels for any further updates as weather conditions continue to develop.
