TENNESSEE — Two people were injured after a crash on Highway 19E in Carter County Sunday night, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP).
The incident occurred around 9:25 p.m. when a 2005 Ford Focus traveling south struck a deer. The driver stopped in the right lane before moving the vehicle to the shoulder.
A 2013 Honda CR-V then stopped to check on the Ford. Both the driver and passenger of the Honda exited their vehicle—one standing at the rear passenger side and the other on the opposite shoulder.
A 2022 Chrysler Town & Country approached the scene and, seeing the Honda in the road, veered right, striking both occupants of the Honda. The Chrysler also collided with the back of the Ford.
The Honda’s driver and passenger were injured, while the Chrysler’s driver was unhurt. The crash remains under investigation.
