NORTH CAROLINA — Police are investigating after a man was assaulted and a woman was found with a gunshot wound early Sunday morning in Goldsboro.
Officers responded around 12:45 a.m. to the 100 block of Vanderbilt Circle after ShotSpotter alerts detected eight rounds being fired.
At the scene, police found a man who had been assaulted. Later, a woman arrived at UNC Health Wayne with a gunshot wound that authorities said was not life-threatening.
Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
