OHIO — A 27-year-old man and a 10-year-old girl were killed Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Morrow County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred on County Road 25 near state Route 61 in Lincoln Township, authorities said.
Troopers from the Mount Gilead Post said Skylar Beveridge, 27, of Mount Gilead, was driving a Jeep Liberty eastbound on County Road 25. Brody Vance, 18, of Marion, was driving a GMC Sierra westbound.
Investigators said Beveridge’s vehicle traveled left of center and was struck on the passenger side by Vance’s truck. The Jeep came to rest on the north side of the roadway, while the GMC stopped on the south side.
A 10-year-old girl from Marengo who was a passenger in the Jeep died at the scene, troopers said. Beveridge was transported by Morrow County EMS to Morrow County Hospital, where he died a short time later.
Vance was taken by Delaware County EMS to Riverside Methodist Hospital with serious injuries.
The highway patrol said the occupants of the Jeep were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
